Passover preparations are challenging. Wouldn’t it be helpful not to have to haul boxes of cookware in and out of storage each year? That’s exactly what efficient design did for this family.

To make the Pesach process easier and more efficient, I designed a custom two-sided half wall that not only adds beauty and structure to the space but also solves a major storage dilemma. I had it custom painted by Kakadu, making it a truly one-of-a-kind unit and conversation piece.

One side of the unit holds the family’s cookbooks, keeping them accessible year-round. The other side cleverly conceals dedicated storage for all of the family's Passover essentials, including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, Haggadahs, and more. No more seasonal shuffling and clutter. Everything has its place and is readily available when it’s holiday time.

The nearby pantry also received a thoughtful upgrade. When the family first installed their kitchen, they were working with a limited budget and could only afford basic stationary shelves. Over time, this made it difficult to reach items and caused many to get lost in the back.

To solve this, we removed the old shelving and installed heavy-duty pull-out shelves in their place. These new shelves can support substantial weight, making them perfect for storing bulky Passover items like boxes of matzah and large containers of oil and wine, as well as everyday essentials like cans, jars, and dry goods. All pantry items are now easily visible and accessible.

Additionally, the kitchen table was thoughtfully designed. Beneath the table, hidden storage was added for the client’s many kitchen appliances, machines, and mixing bowls, all neatly tucked away yet easily accessible. There is also space to comfortably seat five people. The generous butcher block work surface is perfect for baking or prepping meals.

In a compact kitchen, every centimeter counts, and this design maximizes both form and function. With everything in its place, Pesach prep has never been so streamlined and so stylish.
