Styled for Sparkling Stainless-Steel Countertops

After 20 years in a cramped 60 sqm apartment, this family, with six grown sons, five still at home, moved into their more spacious dream home. Still, they sought a calm and cohesive design.

Thanks to the clients’ detailed completion of my pre-design kitchen questionnaire, the space is fully tailored to their needs and preferences, including a custom wine rack and the wife’s top request: stainless steel countertops, a rare feature in Israeli homes.

The custom entry wall unit features a built-in coat closet, often missing in Israeli apartments. For their extensive book collection, I designed a double-tiered bookcase with a movable front section that reveals additional shelves behind. By removing an unnecessary hallway wall, we added more custom shelving and a large desk, creating a shared office space for the couple.

By integrating an extraneous handwashing nook into a nearby WC, we created a full bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. For this family of avid readers, I sourced a unique four-seater reclining sofa. Every seat reclines, including the center. With the additon of two individual recliners, each family member has a place to put up their feet and enjoy a book. A distinctive brass chandelier above the dining table completes the cozy and functional renovation.
